What is the difference between the Central Register and the Voluntary Register?

VARTA manages the two donor conception registers in Victoria, Australia, in which information about people involved in donor treatment procedures - donor-conceived people, their parents, and donors - is recorded. The two donor conception registers are the central and voluntary registers. Each register works in a different way. Kate Bourne, VARTA's Donor Conception Register Services Manager, explains the difference between them.
