VARTA launches online gallery

VARTA is excited to announce that its 'Donor conception: towards openness' exhibition, held at Melbourne's City Library Gallery in June, has now been permanently housed on the VARTA website.

Just as the original exhibition was the first of its kind, so too is this online gallery – a unique collection of art, photography, writing, artefacts and memorabilia provided by people whose lives have been touched by donor conception.

New regulations starting December 2019

New regulations made under the Assisted Reproductive Treatment Act 2008, the Assisted Reproductive Treatment Regulations 2019 (the new regulations), start on December 13, 2019, and replace the earlier regulations which will no longer operate.

The new regulations expand the costs that can be reimbursed to a surrogate and include:

I have always known that I was donor conceived.  Likewise I have always known that I would never know the identity of my donor. The clinic (Queen Victoria Hospital) doesn’t exist anymore, the donors were offered complete anonymity and the doctor swears that the records were ‘lost’ in transition to a private fertility clinic.
