Legal Consequences Of Being A Donor

As a donor you do not have any legal rights or responsibilities towards the person born from your donation. You are not considered the legal parent. People born as a result of your donation are not entitled to make any claim on your estate.  Up to 10 women can have children who are genetic siblings.  Women that the donor already has children with, including any current or former partner of the donor, will be taken into account. You can specify a lower number of families formed if you prefer. You are also entitled to withdraw your consent to the use of your donated gametes unless embryos have already been formed.
