Why telling is important - family relationships

Secrets are hard to keep for long - the idea of a life-long secret is a great burden.  Secrets can also undermine the trust and stability in a family.  The stress of keeping secrets can cause arguments and conflict.

Being secretive may indicate to others, especially to your child, that you are ashamed.  Families are created in many ways and being open about donor conception may help your child to understand the way they were conceived.
